Highlights from WCFA's 2025 Annual General Assembly

The World Communications Forum Association (WCFA) held its Annual General Assembly on May 15, 2025, via Zoom. As the highest decision-making body of the organization, the General Assembly brought together members from around the world to elect new leadership, approve changes to the Statute, and plan the Association’s future.

A key highlight of the meeting was the election of the new Executive Committee, reinforcing WCFA’s commitment to strong and globally representative governance. The newly elected and returning members include experienced professionals from around the world: the newly elected Lars Voedisch (Singapore) – Founder & CEO, PRecious Communications, and the returning members Mary Beth West (USA) – Senior Strategist, #PRethics Community Founder, Stuart Bruce (UK) – Co-Founder, Purposeful Relations, Thabisile Phumo (South Africa) – Executive VP Stakeholder Relations, Sibanye-Stillwater.

All Executive Committee members will also act as Regional Presidents for their respective continents.

The General Assembly also re-elected Mina Nazari (Iran), General Director of PR at the Power Distribution Company of Tabriz, as WCFA Controller for another term, following the newly approved amendments to the Statute.

In addition, Maxim Behar, CEO of M3 Communications Group (Bulgaria), was re-elected as WCFA President, continuing his long-standing leadership and global influence in the communications industry.

As part of the annual meeting, members also voted on and approved minor amendments and additions to the WCFA Statute, aimed at improving the Association’s structure and operations.

The General Assembly also confirmed the appointment of 25 members to the Global Advisory Board, representing over 18 countries and a wide range of expertise in communications, public affairs, ESG, and strategic leadership.

This high-level advisory group supports WCFA’s strategic development and international outreach.

In addition to governance updates, the Assembly reflected on WCFA’s thriving activities in 2024/25, especially the success of the Davos Communications Summit & Awards 2025, held in person in Davos, Switzerland. The President also outlined an ambitious development plan for 2025/26, with the return of the Davos Summit on April 23-24, 2026, the launch of WCFA Magazine in September, and the formation of three expert Working Groups focused on Ethics, Education & Professional Development, and AI in PR.

With the momentum of 2024 behind it, WCFA continues to expand its global influence, strengthening its mission to unite the world’s leading voices in public relations and communications.
