Isaac Agyei Kwakye has over 17 years of experience in public sector communication and public relations. He currently serves as the Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, a pivotal institution in Ghana’s pursuit of sustainable development and environmental responsibility. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the Ministry’s communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and public education campaigns. Prior to this, he served as the Assistant Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
In addition to his work at the ministry level, Isaac has contributed to the national discourse through several published articles in prominent newspapers such as the Ghanaian Times and the Daily Graphic. His widely read piece, “The Consequences of Budget Cuts to Public Relations and Communications Units of Government Institutions Amidst Financial Challenges,” highlighted the critical role of communication in maintaining transparency and public trust. He also co-authored a scholarly article with Dr. Felix Danso, titled “Navigating Economic Integration – Assessing the Impact of the EU-Ghana Economic Partnership Agreement on Trade Dynamics,” published in HSRC Magazine. Biography
Isaac Agyei Kwakye is a long-serving officer within the Information Services Department (ISD), the communications arm of the Government of Ghana. His career has focused on strategic communication, policy dissemination, and public education on national development issues. He is a committed member of the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR, Ghana), the country’s premier body for public relations professionals. Through IPR, he has participated in a wide range of training programmes and conferences, consistently advancing his professional development.
He recently attended the 2025 African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference in Mombasa, Kenya – a leading continental platform exploring innovation, ethics, and the evolving impact of public relations in Africa’s development agenda. His work reflects a deep commitment to using communication as a tool for effective governance and civic engagement.
